New Prototype of YYF; The "Loop2020".

A inicios de diciembre del 2016, Ben McPhee sorprendió a la comunidad de jugadores de 2A con la creación de un grupo de facebook donde daba la premisa del próximo yo-yo llamado "loop2020".

At the beginning of December 2016, Ben McPhee surprised the community of 2A players with the creation of a facebook group where he gave the premise of the next yo-yo called "loop2020".

BenMcPhee publicó:

"El yo-yo moderno preferido para looping no fue creado para el looping. Fue creado por jugadores oportunistas, que aprovechando lo que tenían, lo afinaron (el yo-yo) para satisfacer sus necesidades. Esa afinación influyó en el estilo de juego y el desarrollo de trucos que nos ha llevado a la posición en la que estamos . Yo no sólo hablo de modificar Raiders. Estoy hablando de lijar los gaps en los hummingbirds, usando cera y aceite en los ejes de madera, y sí, por supuesto, tener que conseguir piezas por cajas y probar todo hasta finalmente llegar al truco de "apretar de más"que va junto con algunos yo-yos de plástico modernos.

El performance alcanzado no ha sido nada sorprendente; Largas combinaciones de dormilones, loops extra rápidos, control... y demás de esas cosas.

¿Por qué no ha mejorado la tecnología? Sucedió con el dormilon de los yo-yos. Los jugadores no podían conseguir un stock de yo-yos para hacerlos ellos mismos así que los modificaron. Ahora, cualquier yoyo de la plataforma puede hacer casi cualquier truco. ¿Y por qué no lo yo-yos para looping?

En parte es la precisión. En el modelado se puede cumplir una precisión que no se puede hacer en la producción en masa. Muchos lo han intentado y siguen fallando. Ningún yo-yo ha salido, en la última década, que se haya hecho un claro favorito de los jugadores.

En reconocimiento de esto, en YoyoFactory, dejamos de tratar de hacerlo (el yo-yo) específicamente perfecto para una sola persona, e intentamos crear un rango. Desde este punto, el usuario pudo marcar el ajuste final. Nuestro próximo yo-yo no funcionará de esa manera. Este concepto está bien, pero sólo le dejó al usuario el control de un solo aspecto. Tenemos que darle al jugador más poder para personalizar su configuración.

Todavía creemos que no hay un estándar único que todos los jugadores quieran.

Sabemos que alcanzar la precisión a TODO COSTO no es un compromiso aceptable.

Somos conscientes del equilibrio entre rendimiento y durabilidad. Creemos que la solución no esta en hacer un yo-yo indestructible de rendimiento inferior, pero si en poner piezas disponibles a un precio razonable.

Creemos que casi estamos allí ..."

"The modern preferred looping yoyo was not created for looping. It was created by opportunistic players taking advantage of what they had and tuning it to meet their needs. Their tuning influenced the style of play and trick development which has brought us to the position we are in. Im not just talking about tuning raiders. Im talking about sanding gaps on hummingbirds, using wax and lube on wood axles and yes, of course, finding parts in boxes and trying everything until finally over tightening and all the trickery that goes along with some beloved modern plastic looping yoyos.

The performance achieved has been nothing of amazing. long sleeping combinations, lightning fast looping, control.... off the charts.

So why hasn't the technology improved? It happened with sleeping yoyos. Players couldn't get a stock yoyo to work so they modified them. Now almost any yoyo off the shelf can do almost any trick. Why not looping yoyos?

In part it is precision. In modding a precision can be met that cannot be made in mass production. So many have tried and continue to fail. No one yoyo has come out in the past decade and made itself a clear favorite of players. In acknowledgement of this we at YoyoFactory) quit trying to make it specifically perfect to a single person and we attempt to create a range. From here a user could dial in the final adjustment. Our next yoyo won't work that way. This concept is fine but it only left the user in control of a single aspect. We need to give a player more power to customize their set-up.

We still believe that there is not a single standard that all players want.

We know achieving precision at ALL COSTS is still not an aceptable compromise.

We are aware of the trade-off between performance and durability. We believe the solution likes not in making a lower performance indestructible yoyo but in making parts readily available at a reasonable price.

Ya a inicios de enero del 2017. Ben publico su primer teaser del nuevo loop2020. Dando solo los datos de que no tendrá soldadura sónica, y ni la sensación hueca tan característica que tienen todos los loops desde el loop900, 808, 360 y 1080.

Already in early January 2017. Ben released his first teaser of the new loop2020. Giving only data that will not have sonic welding, nor the hollow feeling so characteristic that all loops have from loop900, 808, 360 and 1080.

Ya en febrero, Ben da a conocer el primer modelo y edición con la que se contara hasta mediados de febrero. Donde iniciara una programa donde los jugadores de todo el mundo podrán adquirir un par para probarlos y dar su retroalimentación para así tener, los puntos finales antes de su lanzamiento comercial.

Already in February, Ben unveils the first model and edition with which it will be counted until mid-February. Where to start a program where players from around the world will be able to acquire a pair to test them and give their feedback to have, the end points before their commercial launch.

Y sorpresivamente también anuncio el lanzamiento de una nueva versión del loop720. El cual ya no tendrá su peculiar sistema de respuesta de cuerda, sino que sera el ya clásico starburst.

El cual estará disponible para los que adquieran su menbresia del loop2020.

And surprisingly I also announced the release of a new version of loop720. Which will no longer have its peculiar string response system, but will be the classic starburst system.

This will be available to those who purchase their loops2020.

Esperemos que más buenas cosas nos depare el futuro de los yo-yos para looping. Deseo que el nuevo modelo lleve por nuevos horizontes a los jugadores de 2A y a las compañías de yo-yos, como lo hizo el loop900 en su tiempo.

Hopefully more good things will bring us the future of yo-yos for looping. I want the new model to take new horizons to 2A players and yo-yos companies, as did the loop900 in its time.
